Effective Cellulite Treatment in Melbourne

Smoother, firmer skin, with a plan designed around your body.

Why cellulite doesn’t go away, even when you lose weight

Cellulite is completely normal but that doesn’t mean you have to live with it.

In fact, around 80–90% of women develop cellulite, most commonly on the thighs, hips, and buttocks. It often appears as subtle dimpling or uneven skin texture, where the skin may feel softer, less firm, or not as smooth as it used to.

Even if you eat well, exercise regularly, and take care of your body, cellulite can still persist. Some people notice it more at the end of the day, after long periods of sitting, or during hormonal changes. Others find that no matter how much they work out, the texture doesn’t fully improve.

That’s because cellulite isn’t just about what’s on the surface — it’s about how your skin, fat, and connective tissue are structured underneath.

For many women, this is more than a cosmetic concern. Studies show that up to 4 in 10 women with cellulite on their legs avoid situations like going to the beach or pool due to insecurities. It can affect confidence, what you wear, and how you feel in your own skin.

The good news?
Once you understand what’s causing it, you can finally treat it the right way

The Real Reason Your Cellulite Won’t Go Away

Different types of cellulite require different treatments

Cellulite doesn’t look the same for everyone — and that’s why a one-size treatment rarely works.

In some cases, it’s only noticeable when the skin is pinched, while in others it may be visible even at rest. Its appearance can range from a subtle “orange peel” texture to more visible dimpling or uneven skin.

Understanding the level of cellulite can help guide the most effective approach.

You might notice:

MINIMAL

Only visible when the skin is pinched or compressed. The texture is still relatively smooth at rest.

MILD

Slight uneven texture may be visible when standing, but becomes more noticeable when the skin is pressed.

MODERATE

Dimpling is clearly visible without needing to pinch the skin. The surface may look uneven even at rest.

SEVERE

More pronounced dimpling with deeper areas of uneven texture, often visible in multiple positions.

What’s really causing your cellulite?

Cellulite isn’t just about fat — and that’s why it can be so frustrating.

It’s a common skin concern that can affect anyone — even those who are fit, active, or at a stable weight. It appears as a dimpled or uneven texture on areas like the thighs, hips, and buttocks.

So what’s happening beneath the surface?

Under the skin, fibrous bands connect the skin to the underlying muscle, while fat and fluid sit in between. As these bands pull downward and the tissue pushes upward, it creates the uneven surface we recognise as cellulite.

Several factors can contribute to its development:

  • Hormonal changes and fluid retention
  • Genetic predisposition
  • Sedentary lifestyle and nutritional habits
  • Circulatory and lymphatic function
  • Reduced muscle tone or skin elasticity

Because cellulite is caused by multiple factors working together beneath the surface, treating it properly requires more than just one solution.

Where Does Cellulite Appear Most?

Cellulite most commonly develops in areas where fat distribution, hormonal influence and circulation are naturally lower. Each area requires a different treatment approach within your Body Journey™ plan. These are the areas we most commonly treat at our Malvern clinic.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does cellulite treatment actually work?

Honestly? Yes, but only when you treat the right causes.

Here’s the thing: cellulite isn’t just a fat problem. It’s caused by the way fibrous bands, fat cells and fluid interact beneath your skin. That’s why a lot of people try one treatment, see minimal change, and assume “nothing works for cellulite.”

What actually works is addressing all of those factors together, not just one in isolation. At Body Sculpting Australia in Malvern, our Body Journey™ program combines technologies that target fat, improve circulation and firm the skin in the right sequence for your specific cellulite type.

Most of our Melbourne clients start noticing visible improvements in skin texture and firmness within 3–4 weeks of starting their program. Results develop gradually, and that’s actually a good thing, because gradual change tends to last longer.

This is probably the most common frustration we hear: “I exercise regularly and eat well, so why do I still have cellulite?”

The short answer is that exercise simply can’t reach what’s happening underneath your skin. Cellulite forms when fibrous bands connect your skin to the underlying muscle, with fat and fluid sitting in between. As those bands pull downward and tissue pushes upward, you get that dimpled, uneven texture; and no amount of squats changes the structure of those bands.

A few things make cellulite more likely regardless of fitness level: hormonal changes, especially oestrogen; genetic predisposition; reduced circulation in certain areas; and fluid retention. These are biological factors, not a reflection of how hard you’re working.

That’s exactly why we use a combination approach at our Malvern clinic; targeting the fat layer, the fibrous structure and the lymphatic circulation together. Because treating only one part of the problem is why so many people feel like “nothing works.

It really depends on your cellulite grade and the areas being treated, which is why we always start with a proper assessment before recommending anything.

At Body Sculpting Australia in Malvern, most clients follow a program of 6–12 sessions, spaced to allow each stage to build on the previous one. Cellulite responds best to consistent, staged treatment; rushing it or doing sessions too far apart usually delivers weaker results.

During your free consultation, we assess your cellulite type, from Minimal to Severe, and map out a realistic program with a clear session count and timeline. No vague “it depends”; you leave knowing exactly what to expect and what your investment looks like.

And if at any point your skin responds differently than expected, we adjust the plan. Your program works around your body, not the other way around.

We’re going to be straight with you here, because we think you deserve an honest answer, not a sales pitch.

The improvements from treatment are real and can be long-lasting. When we reduce localised fat, improve circulation and stimulate collagen in your skin, those changes are genuine. Most of our Melbourne clients maintain visible improvement for 12–18 months after completing their program.

But cellulite is influenced by ongoing factors; hormonal changes, ageing, fluid retention and lifestyle habits all continue after treatment. That doesn’t mean your results disappear, but it does mean that maintenance plays a role in protecting them over time.

This is why step 3 of our program, Follow-Up & Support, exists. We track your progress with photos and measurements, and we’ll tell you honestly if a maintenance session would help keep your results where you want them. No surprises, no pressure.

Unfortunately, yes, and there are a few reasons why.

As we age, our skin produces less collagen and elastin, the proteins that keep skin firm and supported. When skin loses that underlying structure, the fibrous bands causing cellulite become more visible. At the same time, hormonal changes, particularly the decline in oestrogen during perimenopause and menopause, actively shift fat distribution toward the thighs, hips and buttocks, the areas most affected by cellulite.

Circulation also tends to slow with age, which means fluid and toxins move less efficiently through the lymphatic system; contributing to that heavier, puffier feeling many women notice over time.

The good news? Understanding why cellulite gets worse with age is exactly what allows us to treat it more effectively. Our Body Journey™ program at Body Sculpting Australia specifically targets collagen stimulation, lymphatic drainage and fat reduction together, addressing the age-related factors, not just the surface appearance.

Cellulite programs at Body Sculpting Australia range from $600 to $2,000, depending on the areas you want to treat and how many sessions your skin needs.

A mini plan targeting one area can start from $400. A more comprehensive program covering multiple areas or a higher cellulite grade will sit toward the higher end.

Something we genuinely believe in: effective body treatment should be accessible, not just for people who can afford surgery. And honestly? Surgery can’t fix cellulite anyway. It removes fat, but it doesn’t touch the fibrous bands and circulation issues causing the dimpling.
